Fishing on the Nile. I asked the felucca crew what these guys were up to and they said "hassling the fish". "Hassle" is the term used to describe the business of bothering tourists, and clearly has entered the Egypian English dictionary.

What they actually do is set up a square of netting, then stand in the middle hitting the water with a big stick. The frightened fish take flight straight into the waiting nets.

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
