The main entrance to Luxor. The statue closest is of Queen Hatshepsut ("The Queen who would be Pharaoh"), who fell from favour and disappeared. No one knows what happened to her, but since every single statue of her was defaced, it's a safe guess that her successor, Tuthmose III, tried to eradicate her memory.

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
