The "Super Pit", the open mine just on the edge of town. My camera is completely inappropriate for this kind of shot. This photo shows about 20% of the mine - you'd need a seriously wide lens to get a photo of the whole thing.
In the bottom right corner on the pit floor you can see a digger. On the right side, at about the sun's shadow line, you can see some of the trucks which move the ore around. Each of those machines is as big as a house!
All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital
camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been
post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the
CurveMeister
plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
