This is a "Widow maker", the first power tool to be used in a West Australian mine. It's a drill powered by compressed air, and it got its nickname name because it never occured to anyone that the amount of dust it produced (lots) could be harmful. A year or two after its introduction young men in their 20s started dropping dead of horrible lung disorders. Well, duh.

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
