These workers bundle up tabacco leaves and cut them to size and shape using the grey blade just visible on the desk in front of this guy. He then rolls them up and puts them in the mould to his left. That mould is then pressed for 3 weeks to make the cigars perfectly round. The speed he was working at was remarkable - those blurred hands in the photograph weren't an artistic photographic device, they were pretty much unavoidable.
