The 'Forum', the main square in the old city of Pompeii. Those plinths are where the town leaders would come and have their say to the people. In the background is Vesuvius, which on August 24th 79AD blew it's top half into the air. When the rock and ash came down it buried Pompeii to a depth of up to 6 metres.

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
