One evening we took a drive up to the vistors centre of the observatories at the top of Mauna Kea. This is where they get some of their big amateur telescopes out for vistors to look through. The really big stuff at the summit is off limits to visitors. It was very cold - close to freezing, whereas the coastal area we came from was near 30C. While we waited for the early mist to clear we sat indoors, watched videos and ate pot noodles!

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
