The pipeline itself. This one runs from the main pumping station. Just to the left is another pipe from a second pumping station just downstream. That second one is only turned on when demand is high. They join up some way into the distance. The water in the pipe flows at 3km/hr - slower than walking pace. You can hear the pipe humming as water flows through it, and that water you hear will take up to 11 days to reach the golidfields.

All images on this website have been shot using either a Canon S40 compact digital camera, or a Canon 20D DLSR. I'm something of a Canon fan. :) Most images have been post processed with Adobe Photoshop and the CurveMeister plugin. I thoroughly recommend CurveMeister, BTW. It's a great piece of software.
