The digger grabs a shovel full of ore and dumps it in the truck. Repeat 4 times (each 50 tonne shovel load making a huge roar as it gets dropped) then the truck trundels off up the side of the mine to whever the ore is processed. The process goes on hour after hour, day after day. Which is why there's such a damn great hole in the ground!
